When we close our eyes and imagine mold, a green, fuzzy substance on a piece of old food probably comes to mind. But mold is so much more than that. It is all around us. There are positive and negative aspects of mold. We may not think about how we use mold in our daily lives, but it’s found in our cheese and used as a sweetener in candy, and in medicine in the form of penicillin.
Certain kinds of mold can cause significant harm when left uncontrolled in a community. As a team member in this industry it is crucial that you understand mold, how it reproduces, what it needs to thrive, and how to control and remediate it.
