CAM: Financial Management


Financial management is woven throughout the CAM course and for a manager, is one of the key metrics of success.  Many managers’ primary objectives are to meet the financial goals of an investment and to add value. Some key topics taught in this course include:

  • Learning how to develop and manage a stabilized budget
  • Analyzing an income statement
  • Preventing and solving for bad debt
  • Performing a property valuation

To obtain the CAM credential, candidates must complete the following:

  • Minimum of 12 months of onsite property management experience (This can be obtained while taking the course; you will receive a provisional certificate until this requirement is met.)
  • Successful completion of all CAM coursework (totaling 40 hours)
  • Meet all examination standards within 12 months of declaring candidacy
